A remarkably elegant and architectural oak pedestal, crafted in Belgium during the 1920s. This tall and slender piece is a superb example of Art Deco craftsmanship, combining geometric refinement with artisanal detail.
Rising on four tapering legs, this pedestal seems to stand on tiptoe - giving the piece a personality of its own. The two tiers break open the ascent like graceful pauses, adding rhythm, airy yet assured, delicate yet architectural.
Just below the top, a beautifully carved frieze of repeating geometric motifs provides texture and contrast — a hallmark of the period’s fascination with pattern and craftsmanship. The square top, with its finely beveled edge, is ideal for displaying a sculpture, plant, or vase.
