Product Details
A remarkably elegant and architectural oak pedestal, crafted in Belgium during the 1920s. This tall and slender piece is a superb example of Art Deco craftsmanship, combining geometric refinement with artisanal detail.
Rising on four tapering legs, this pedestal seems to stand on tiptoe - giving the piece a personality of its own. The two tiers break open the ascent like graceful pauses, adding rhythm, airy yet assured, delicate yet architectural.
Just below the top, a beautifully carved frieze of repeating geometric motifs provides texture and contrast — a hallmark of the period’s fascination with pattern and craftsmanship. The square top, with its finely beveled edge, is ideal for displaying a sculpture, plant, or vase.
Executed in solid oak, the piece displays a warm, even patina and remains in good original condition, with only minimal wear consistent with age.
Both sculptural and functional, this pedestal lends height and grace to any interior, whether classic, Art Deco, or modern eclectic.
