Rare Vienna Secession style pedestal or plant table by Ernst Rockhausen, Germany, ca. 1910-1920. Marked underneath and patented. Rockhausen is well known from the antique wood and brass magazine stands. A table like this is a rare find.
The frame is made from brass tubes with decorative elements around the tabletop. The wooden tabletops have a particular design.
Rockhausen was founded in 1866 by Carl Ernst Rockhausen who started a carpentry workshop in Waldheim (Saxony). Quality and style soon made his company internationally known. Around the 1930s the company had about 450 patents.
