A beautifully proportioned Amsterdam School armchair from the 1920s, crafted in oak and distinguished by its stepped geometric base and striking coromandel (macassar ebony) detailing on the armrests and lower frame. The silhouette is bold yet welcoming - an architectural form softened with some curved accent in the stepped design and in the round shaped macassar veneer on the armrests.
Recently reupholstered and refinished, the chair is very comfortable for everyday use, and still retains its original springs. The contrast between the warm oak and the dark, sculptural coromandel details gives the chair its signature visual rhythm: graphic, elegant, and unmistakably Amsterdam School.
