Product Details
This rare Dutch Art Deco magazine stand from the 1920s is a perfect example of Dutch modernist design that became popular after the First World War. The modernists rebelled against the traditional ideas and forms of art and architecture, they disrupted and renewed in order to better reflect the modern industrialized society.
The stand has a magazine holder at the base, and two tables at the top. Nice assymetry in the design. Stands like these were made to place beside a chair or sofa, to have reading material near and also place a drink (and most probablty also the ashtray) on the smaller table.
The piece is made from solid oak, in good condition considering its age and use.
