Product Details
A modernist writing desk with an assymetrical design, Haagse School/modernist piece,
It has one large drawer at the front and a three shelves storage compartment at the left. On the desktop a black leather inlay. The desk was manufactured by Fa. Tijsseling, Nijkerk and it still has its original metal plate at the back. The actual designer is unknown, but the design is clearly inspired by modernist and Haagse School architects of the time, like Gerrit Rietveld, Hendrik Wouda and P.E.L. Izeren.
The desk could serve as an accent piece in either a classic, vintage ot eclectic interior . Also ideal to style the more limited space of a city apartment as the desk is an adult desk, but doesn't take up a lot of space.
Some pictures with a large lamp and book were added to get a better idea of the size and scale.
The desk is in very good condition with only small signs of wear. The lock and drawer are fully functional.
