This magazine holder from the 1920s is a perfect example of Dutch Art Nouveau (known as ''De Nieuwe Kunst). De Nieuwe Kunst is one of the many variants of the international Art Nouveau, a style movement that definitively put an end to imitation of historical styles which was the norm and method in the nineteenth century.
The magazine holder is made from oak, has a circular (wood inlay) ornament and is in excellent condition considering its age and use.
