Product Details
A beautifully constructed 1920s architectural accent table or pedestal table in solid oak, with a strong modernist presence in the tradition of the Hague School. The piece . is small in footprint but has a wonderfully shaped form - the design is simple at first glance, yet carries a strong sense of architectural intention.
Its square top rests on a solid, architectural body, giving the table the character of a small pedestal or plinth. Every side reveals a different movement in the woodgrain, from calm linear patterns to more expressive natural figuring. The deep, dark oak gives the piece a rich and atmospheric quality, allowing the grain itself to become the decoration.
This is a very versatile piece: elegant beside an armchair, striking as a small pedestal for a vase, lamp or sculpture, and equally suitable in a hallway, bedroom, gallery space or refined interior setting.
The table has been restored with respect for its age and character. It remains in very good antique condition, with small signs of age and use consistent with a piece from the 1920s. Structurally solid and well made.
