Product Details
Very rare 1920s Dutch Art Deco side table with an extraordinary modernist design, which makes it an interesting piece to look at from all different angles. Made from oak and solid macassar ebony feet and decorated with walnit veneer and mcassar ebony around the top.
The table is very sturdy and quite heavy (around the 10 kilograms)
The design of this table is reminiscent of tables by P.E.L. Izeren for De Genneper Molen. It also has similarities to some other Hague School designs. The style of the table can be classified as Modernist or The Hague School (Haagse School).
Tables like these don't come along very often and are very sought after by collectors of the Dutch modernist styles from the 1920s. It combines very well with other modernist pieces in the same style.
This piece is in very good lightly restored condition, with only small signs of aging.
Dutch modernists were greatly influenced by American modernist architects like Frank Lloyd Wright. Which is clearly visible in this particular piece.
