Product Details
A Dutch Art Deco side table in solid oak, dating from the 1920s, with a modernist design.
The round top is carried by four upright supports, each enriched with a pointed lozenge-shaped applied detail, a decorative intervention that adds just enough character without disturbing the table’s modernist clarity. Below, the design resolves into a bold cross-shaped base, giving the piece a grounded, stable stance and creating an appealing play of lines and shadow when viewed from different angles.
What makes the table especially attractive is this balance: the solidity of the construction, the warmth of the oak, and the restraint of the ornament. The black-stained feet provide a visual punctuation, sharpening the silhouette.
It is a versatile piece that can serve equally well as a side table, lamp table, occasional table, ora display table.
A characterful Dutch Art Deco table with a strong modernist sensibility, well suited to both period interiors and more pared-back contemporary spaces.
The table is in very good, lightly restored condition - the oak has been finished with a traditional wax polish, giving the wood a deep, lively tone while preserving the natural grain structure.
