Dutch Art Deco Amsterdam School pedestal in oak, 1920s
A tall Amsterdam School/ Arts & Crafts pedestal in solid oak, 1920s to 1930s. The pedestal nearly comes up to one's shoulder which is quite extraordinary (most pedestals are around the 90 cm in height). It is handcrafted, woodcarved and has subtle black stained details. The feet have a characteristic Art Deco shape with sculptural forms.
Amsterdam School pedestals made great accent pieces and are sought after by interior designers and collectors of Dutch Art Deco Amsterdam School. It combines very well with more modern pieces as well as with antiques. Pictures taken in different types of natural light and angles to bring across a good impression of this piece.
The pedestal is in very good condition, lightly restored. A great accent piece on its own or with a object on top. Also very suitable as a plantstand, for instance to support a cascading fern or lipstickplant.
