Product Details

A particularly elegant and increasingly rare to find Dutch Art Deco side table, 1920s, and strongly rooted in the sculptural vocabulary of the Amsterdam School.

Despite its modest proportions, the table has a remarkable presence. With the circular top and dramatically curved supports which sweep inward towards the centre, converging around a rounded central detail in the base.
Underneath, the crossed base adds another layer to the carefully balanced geometry and gives the table a strong visual foundation. Particularly attractive are the subtle carved Macassar ebony details around the tabletop, providing scultped accents against the warm wood and adding refinement.
It is a sophisticated example of Amsterdam School design, combining symmetry, expressive curves, contrasting woods and carefully considered decorative details.
This is a rather uncommon model, and tables of this quality and distinctive form are increasingly sought after. Its compact size makes it a particularly decorative piece for a curated interior.
The table has been expertly restored and is in very good condition. It is stable, sturdy and ready for use.
