An extremely rare version of the Conrad Fehn Amsterdamse School fringed copper desk lamp. A one off with a different design than the more common ones like depicted in the ''Living in the Amsterdam School'' book.
The design with the fringes is said to have been inspired by the carnivorous plant. Looking at the shapes of carnivorous plants, it seems indeed to have been inspired by the so called ''Venus Flytrap'' (last picture).
It's a surprisingly large and heavy lamp, a bit over 40 cm seen from the side and 35 cm in height. The base is 20 cm wide. It's quite heavy and it stands very stable.
This piece combines very well with other Amsterdam School items or can be an eye catcher in eclectic out of the box interiors.
It works with one lightbulb (E27) and is fitted with a standard European plug. The wiring has been replaced in either the 1960s or 70s. On request we can rewire for European use (within the price)
